Recently, the National Science and Technology Dept. released the list of products of independent innovation in China, among which the "Power Ni-MH Power Supply System" of Chunlan was selected.  There are only 15 items of products was selected this time.

This year, the National Seience and Technology Dept. identified 243 items of independent innovation products in the first lot.  According to the regulation, the new products which has been identified by the government, will have the priority to purchase of Fiscal funds such as government and National Key project procurement. Furthermore, they will received key support for high-tech enterprise certification, the promotion of cientific and technological achievements and related industries policy.

It is understood that, as early as 1993 Chunlan on identifying the high-energy power Ni-MH battery R & D projects, and in 1997 established the Energy Research Center, invested heavily in the introduction of world-class experts and key equipment for the battery to the relevant conduct; In 2001, the item was included in the national "863 Program"; in 2002 gained momentum nickel-hydrogen battery technology, hydrogen storage, charge volume and number of charge cycles and other key properties of a comprehensive breakthrough, have developed a 10AH - 600AH Power Ni-MH battery products , identified by the State Science and Technology, the system advanced aspects of the product at the international advanced level.  In the "power nickel-hydrogen power system," a ten-year R & D, Chunlan accumulated more than 100 technical problems overcome, access to 57 national patents, of which seven patents, not only formed a relatively complete line of products, but also has its key material , battery formula, the industrialization of the core areas of technology and independent intellectual property rights.

At present, Chunlan "Power Ni-MH power supply system" has been widely used in hybrid cars, high-speed locomotives, intelligent power stations, intelligent robots, large ships, etc., and continuously included in the national "energy-saving and new energy vehicles," a major scientific and technological projects.  2008 Beijing Olympic Games special new energy automotive applications of the product and reduce fuel consumption 30 percent, reduce emissions more than 35%, reaching a "Europe Ⅲ" emission standards.

An industry source said the oil crisis and environmental pollution, the twin threats of today, Chunlan "Power Ni-MH power supply system," with its high-energy, long-life, pollution-free, maintenance-free and other outstanding advantages for the transportation, machine tools provide a "green" power source.  It will lead China's automobile industry entered the era of hybrid, while vigorously promoting a "circular economy" based on conservation-oriented society, good and fast development. It is reported that Chunlan Clean Energy Research Institute Company Limited is stepping up its "Power Ni-MH power supply system," mass production to meet growing market demand.
